Talk:Main Page
From AlwaysInnovating
Do you like to add this to "other places" section of main page?
There is an IRC channel about the touchbook. Join #touchbook at irc.freenode.net. IRC is logged, too.

Editing Privileges
Contrary to the statement at the end of this page, you do need a login to be able to edit. I tried amending that statement, but discovered that this page is not editable even if you *are* logged in. I have a few things I'd like to work on, if you see fit to give me the opportunity. Dataphile 16:21, 22 November 2009 (PST)
- Solved. The issue is just limited to this page. Dataphile 20:02, 23 November 2009 (PST)
Refactor
The current page consists of 9 sections:
- Getting Started
- FAQs
- Recovery
- AI OS
- Other OS
- Source Code AI OS
- Touch Book hardware
- Developers - Contest
- Helpdesk
The many small boxes are noisy and redundant. I suggest this be re-organized into three broad sections:
- Getting Started (includes FAQs and Recovery--renamed to Troubleshooting)
- Development (Hardware, AI & Other OSes, Source Code, Developers Contest)
- Support (Helpdesk, IRC, email, etc.)

The Proliferation of Spam
Take a look at this list: http://www.alwaysinnovating.com/wiki/index.php/Special:UncategorizedPages
Loaded with spam! Spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans and spam!!
All jokes aside, there seems to be a large number of uncategorized pages in this wiki that contain unrelated external links to potentially malicious websites. I've redacted one so far, but I could use some help with the rest...or maybe I'll scour the wiki over the next week or so...whomever wants to help, it would be appreciated.

- I created the spam category, mainly to collect it all together into one place. Maybe an admin will stumble across it one day and delete the pages. Until then, I like to think that it's helping Google and other search engines to associate all those words and names with 'spam'. Or maybe that's too hopeful.
- Also, I find it's best to watch the Special:RecentChanges page - load it up every day or two and look for the spammer's obvious page names. --Imroy 01:23, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
