[6:06] <shiznebit> something seems of with the amount of memory for the 10 incher here --->
[6:06] <shiznebit> http://www.moto.com/amp/amp_specs.shtml
[6:07] <shiznebit> how the heck do they manage 1 GB of LPDDR
[6:15] <Meizirkki> OMAP4...
[6:15] <ryuo> i bet its extremely expensive.
[6:16] <leinir> i'd say that's likely...
[6:16] <leinir> 10.4 inch OLED
[6:16] <leinir> that alone is going to put it into silly-price range
[6:16] <ryuo> $2k?
[6:16] <ryuo> lol
[6:17] <shiznebit> competing with apple lol
[6:17] <Meizirkki> haha
[6:17] * Meiz_TB (n=Meizirkk@bbwirelessgw2-feeedc00-64.dhcp.inet.fi) Quit (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[6:20] <shiznebit> when is OMAP4 out ?
[6:22] <gregoiregentil> OMAP4 is even not in production....
[6:23] <shiznebit> wow
[6:23] <shiznebit> so if anything its atleast 1 year away
[6:24] <gregoiregentil> Like Moto, I should put on my homepage: touchbook II, OMAP5630, 2GHz, 4GB LPDDR3...
[6:24] <shiznebit> also good morning Gregoire
[6:24] <gregoiregentil> Hello!
[6:24] <shiznebit> :D
[6:24] <shiznebit> TBH the touchbook suffices memory requirements quite well
[6:25] <shiznebit> the problem comes down to the proc
[6:25] <gregoiregentil> If you optimize the software, I think so. Even with 256, you can do a bunch of things
[6:25] <gregoiregentil> I agree too. More CPU power would help more
[6:29] <Meizirkki> I think the android is running on my touchbook right now i just can't see it :(
[6:29] * MMlosh (n=MMlosh@2001:470:1f0b:b78:bc24:d9f5:ae59:9461) has joined #touchbook
[6:29] <Meizirkki> blanked screen
[6:30] <shiznebit> LOL
[6:33] <Meizirkki> I tested the rowboat android uboot with the original kernel and the screen came back when kernel booted
[6:33] <Meizirkki> now the android kernel doesn't turn the screen on :(
[6:34] <Corsac> gregoiregentil: hmhm, is there a way to disable ???long press = right click??? when the finger is moving?
[6:38] <gregoiregentil> yes
[6:38] <Corsac> how do I do that? :)
[6:38] <gregoiregentil> when finger is moving, I don't know
[6:38] <Corsac> ha.
[6:38] <gregoiregentil> long press=right click, to disable, yes
[6:39] <Corsac> the problem is, right click might be useful, even in tablet mode, but then scrolling is a pain
[6:39] <gregoiregentil> while moving: probably needs a patch
[6:39] <gregoiregentil> it's a good point. but I didn't see it too much with Midori
[6:39] <gregoiregentil> do you experience it in Midori to have the right click to pop up while scrolling?
[6:43] * shiznebit (n=shiznebi@ool-18b99096.dyn.optonline.net) Quit (Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer))
[6:43] <gregoiregentil> This is the file of libgtkstylus, not long, that should not be difficult to patch... http://pastebin.com/d13f2256e
[6:45] <gregoiregentil> Corsac: but I'm confused, that should not happen as there is a threshold of position (which I actually increased a while ago). So if you scroll with finger, you shouldn't have any right click. Do you?
[6:47] * leinir (n=leinir@amarok/usability/leinir) Quit (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[7:00] * Vito89 (n=quassel@94.142.234.1) Quit (Read error: 113 (No route to host))
[7:00] * jvs (n=jvs@90.146.56.206) Quit ("Leaving")
[7:08] <Corsac> gregoiregentil: hmhm, in fact that's not right click, it's text select which bothers me :/
[7:10] * Vito89 (n=quassel@147.32.223.36) has joined #touchbook
[7:12] <gregoiregentil> yes. I agree with you on that. We need to patch midori
[7:13] <gregoiregentil> it was the advantage of the grab-n-drag.js that Alexandre developed. You can avoid that
[7:13] <gregoiregentil> but to have the scrolling handled in C is better.
[7:13] <gregoiregentil> I also would like to get back the scrollbar even in gtk-touchscreen-mode
[7:14] <gregoiregentil> well, you know the next step ;-) Midori's author is your old and new friend...
[7:21] <Meizirkki> gregoiregentil, is there something special in the kernel regarding USB ?
[7:21] <Meizirkki> as every single other kernel i have tested seem to fail with the USB
[7:22] <Meizirkki> s/other/non-original/
[7:22] * pwie42 (n=paul@86.56.156.107) has joined #touchbook
[7:24] <gregoiregentil> the gpio reset is important
[7:24] <gregoiregentil> for USB
[7:24] <gregoiregentil> there are some patches around for this USB phy reset
[7:25] <Meizirkki> okay, thanks

[8:06] -christel- [Global Notice] Hi all, we're going to need to restart a few servers due to memory issues, this will cause slight disturbance for a few minutes and about 3500 users will be affected. The servers we're about to restart are: holmes, farmer, kubrick, brown and clarke. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for using freenode.
[8:07] * Disconnected.

[8:09] Zygo [i=startkey@207.192.69.118] entered the room.
[8:09] Gregoire: OK. I have upgraded webkit, midori (it was not enough), pixman and gtk (it was enough at this point) to fix the scrolling issue in Midori
[8:10] Gregoire: Thanks to Koen and Corsac for the help
[8:16] Corsac: \o/

[8:19] slayton [n=slayton@18.4.14.139] entered the room.
[8:20] slayton: i'm having problems getting my touchbook to turn on
[8:20] slayton: when I have the screen plugged into the keyboard I push the power button and AI shows up but turns off quickly, when I try turning it own without the keyboard i hear a faint buzzing and can see a red LED turning on inside the unit (when I look through the open port in the bottom of the screen)
[8:27] Gregoire: slayton: can you try with the DC plugged and see if it's the same?
[8:28] Eruquen: I sometimes have trouble getting it to start without the power plugged in even though at least the keyboard battery is >90%
[8:29] pwie42 left the room (quit: "Leaving.").
[8:29] Eruquen: I figured the top battery must be empty and the mechanism used to draw power from the keyboard only applies when the device is alreay booted up to a certain degree
[8:30] Eruquen: but now I'm pretty sure that the tablet battery must have been full since it ran detached from the keyboard without the plug after booting
[8:34] alexandre [n=alexandr@76.21.41.103] entered the room.
[8:34] Meiz_TB [n=Meizirkk@bbwirelessgw2-feeedc00-64.dhcp.inet.fi] entered the room.
[8:35] slayton: oh sorry I forgot to say this happens with the dc cord plugged into either the keyboard or the screen
[8:43] Meizirkki: slayton, sounds like your charger is broken
[8:43] Meizirkki: mine charger was dead but i don't care because i have another
[8:46] slayton: thats kind of lame
[8:46] slayton: the mini usb plug on the screen is that for power in or power out?
[8:47] Meiz_TB left the room (quit: Read error: 60 (Operation timed out)).
[8:47] Meiz_TB [n=Meizirkk@bbwirelessgw2-feeedc00-64.dhcp.inet.fi] entered the room.
[8:48] Corsac: slayton: none?
[8:48] slayton: if I plug in the charger nothing happens I still can't get the computer too boot
[8:49] Gregoire: slayton: do you see the ai logo?
[8:49] Gregoire: or really nothing happens?
[8:49] Gregoire: can you check the LCD cable (fragile cable) is not pinched by the USB connector
[8:50] Vito89 [n=quassel@gw.loccal.net] entered the room.
[8:50] slayton: only when the computer is plugged into the keyboard, when I try to turn on the screen by it self. I hear a very faint buzzing and can see a red led that turns on then off but the AI logo never appears
[8:50] slayton: I get the AI logo for about 1 second when the keyboard is plugged into the wall jack and the screen is docked
[8:50] slayton: when I just have the screen solo with the wall jack plugged in I get the problem I've already described
[8:50] Gregoire: is the top battery connected to the board?
[8:51] slayton: I haven't checked but I assumed it would be. I don't have the computer on me now I just wanted to check here to see if anybody had any ideas
[8:52] slayton is now known as slayton|away
[8:53] Gregoire: please check again the connections. Top battery needs to be correctly plugged into the board even if it's empty.
