New Specs

As I was reading "what's new" on the website, I stumbled upon the fact that there will be a new hardware... but there is no lead to any information about that.

On the order page, one can read that we need to buy an "upgrade fee" but it's not telling us what we will buy and how much this new shiny hardware will cost. I don't think much customers will do this ...

The concept of AI looks good and beats all the other tablets. There nothing worse than "no information".

I think I can speak for many user and give us hope so we can stay away from buying an other not so innovating tablet:

Give us some information. If you can't give the specs at the moment, give us a date by when you will have those specs. Give us some hope so we know that we just have to wait for the ultimate tablet that fullfill all our tablet needs.

I agree. I have put in a pre-order, but as the lack of information, prices, and dates continues well into the "summer", during which it was supposed to have been announced, I am increasingly tempted to cancel and find another tablet. AI is really losing credibility.

I preordered on April 4th 2010. No clear info since then... only that HW production will resume in July...... I am also reconsidering my preorder...

The current Touch Book production is in stand-by and will resume soon, when we release the newest Touch Book. The new Touch Book product launch should occur in September.

The new Touch Book will have a new beagle board design, as well as other hardware and software upgrades.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

I preordered a TB nearly 4 months ago ("we'll ship within 2 months..."")
and AI still has not given any information on when "my" TB will be
ready. There is also no info about the technical
specifications of your "latest innovation" (a TB upgrade?), although
there was a new beagle board release in the meantime.
In general I (and some others. -> cf. AI forum) am not very happy with
AI's information policy. You do not even give the slightest hint on what
is going on @ AI with respect to the TB.

In the meantime I have bought a NEW lenovo ideapad 10s-2 for 220 $ and
will buy a touchscreen kit (75$) which finally will have the same
functionality compared to the TB.
Compare the price difference !

THEREFORE, I KINDLY WANT TO INFORM YOU HEREWITH THAT I CANCEL MY
PREORDER BELOW since I am no longer interested in the TB.

I can't relate to the angry posts above but i agree that we should be given some info. For me a new Touch Book model is exciting news but i desperately need something to satisfy my curiosity. Is there a mailing list we can subscribe to for press releases?

I placed my order for a Touch Book on March 10, but the wait has been too long with too little information to justify it. I canceled my order today.
