I just wanna to say: Great work AI

I just downloaded the new 03.a kernel and wow, just wow. Touchscreen has improved a lot. I have been tablet-only user for the last few months so this means much to me. Thanks, great work.

Good to hear - got any clues about what else has changed? Care to share more details? I haven't finished the download yet and probably wont get a chance to play with it until the end of the week so I'd be happy to learn more about it from a new user ..

How did you find out about the download?

Where is the download link?

Thanks,

All OSes are under the "release" directory:

He's right, the touch screen is much better - I feel I can actually use Xournal now.

Chrome is now the default browser (a good change, I switched to Chrome on the TB a bit ago).

Claws mail for e-mail.

New tangogps - seems faster (and is supposed to be) but I can't say for sure without a side-by-side comparison.

Right-click on time to adjust.

sweet new on-screen, full-screen-width keyboard (with docking syslet)! Perhaps a tad short, but its always a trade-off on app space and keyboard space. Its also a bit slow to come up... I blame python, but I don't like Python so of coarse I blame it.

Same kernel (2.6.32 needs testers!), no battery monitor changes, no power management.

how do i get 2.6.32 kernel?
preferably in a way that won't fill up my 20GB of free space on root partition (bitbake LOVES to do that. i can't imagine how much space it eats when it can)

In reverse chronological order, here are two e-mail snippits:
Gregorie wrote:With the help of Koen, I have updated the linux-omap-psp_2.6.32.bb
recipe
http://git.alwaysinnovating.com/cgit.cg ... _2.6.32.bb
and it starts to work:

Gregorie wrote:Hello,

I'm trying to upgrade the kernel to 2.6.32:
http://git.alwaysinnovating.com/cgit.cg ... _2.6.32.bb
based on OpenEmbedded and Koen's work.

I have ported the key patches and it compiles fine. Unfortunately, the
kernel hangs.

The key files are:
http://git.alwaysinnovating.com/cgit.cg ... /defconfig

http://git.alwaysinnovating.com/cgit.cg ... ouchbook.c

You need a serial cable
(http://www.alwaysinnovating.com/wiki/in ... rial_cable) to see
anything and you probably needs to do at u-boot:

setenv bootargs "console=ttyS2,115200n8 omapfb.vrfb=1
omapfb.mode=dvi:1024x600MR-16@60 omapdss.def_disp=dvi
omapfb.vram=0:8M,1:4M root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rootdelay=1 rootfstype=ext3"

In the omap3_touchbook_init function of the board file, there is a
couple things that hang but they could be fixed later. Even with the
comments, the system hangs without any error just before the freeing
init memory.

Any test and suggestion is welcome,

well yes, but that second link no longer works, and the first one involves bitbake, which involves eating all free space i can throw at it.
but okay, i will try it again, maybe if i'm only compiling kernel, it will behave sanely
